Combat period poverty in California
In various states, luxury taxes are placed on menstrual products, despite periods not being controllable or a luxury. This is especially detrimental for low income and homeless menstruators that are often forced to choose between purchasing pads, tampons, panty liners, etc or other necessities like food and clothes. Assembly Bill 31 provided a temporary exemption in California, but it's time to demand the extension of this bill to remove luxury taxes on period products and make them accessible to all.
